Who keeps the salon
The Machine Learning Salon provides free information about machine learning and artificial intelligence. Its aim is to develop the understanding of machine learning theory and its applications by providing a first set of useful website links to people who are interested in machine learning.
The salon is a complementary service to blogs, question and answer sites and mailing lists, without any registration. It is built on a simple web platform and keeps only aggregate statistics: the geographical location of visitors, their loyalty and their page views. No IP addresses, no emails. There is nothing to sell and no intention to sell anything.
Since the 30th of May, the salon has been very proud to have visitors from 83 different countries, more than 5,000 unique visitors and 14,000 page views, without any advertising or communication at all. The only link posted was shared once on DataTau.com, and since then the salon has used no social media, except a few tweets.
Founder
The Machine Learning Salon is founded by Jacqueline I. Forien, who very much enjoyed her Master of Science in machine learning at University College London, thanks to all her wonderful machine learning and computational statistics peers and teachers.
Jacqueline would like to express a special gratitude to her director of machine learning studies at UCL, Professor Mark Herbster, her tutor, Professor David Barber, and her supervisor of the master's project, Professor Nadia Berthouze.
In addition, Jacqueline would like to express many thanks to Igor Carron, who initiated the smart association of machine learning and salon, and gave her the opportunity to organise in London a wonderful event, the Europe wide machine learning meetup between Paris, Berlin, Zurich and London, with Andrew Ng as a guest speaker.
